How our farm works for you and what you can expect.

Why do I have to have a membership to order?

Our farmer abides by strict farming standards, i.e., no chemicals used on his farm and no hormones, antibiotics, drugs, or GMOs are given to his animals. His herd of Jersey-breed cows is also completely grass-fed. 

We are a private association comprised of farmers, community members and nutritional choice advocates whose main purpose is to strengthen and protect small and family farms through education and activism. The annual membership fee is $20 (a $1 application fee may apply).

Since our farmer is a private member of these standards, all GHNOVA members must also be private members to participate, visit our store, and purchase. The products available are not FDA, PDA, or VDA approved for commercial sale. 


How do I know what to do once I join?

You'll receive a detailed Membership Email with our Handbook attached. You'll get your pick-up information when you will pay for your order, how to call in late orders, how to know when your site location is delivered, and what to do if there are discrepancies with your order. By thoroughly reading our Handbook, you'll be a pro at getting your orders! ^_^ 


Do you ever have discounts or specials? 

Yes! Every so often our farmer's daughter sends along a newsletter with any arm specials. ^_^

Do I have to commit to a weekly order?

No, you do not! You may place a one-time order whenever you desire, or you can opt to join the Standing Order (Subscription) Club to have your favorite products delivered every week, or bi-weekly. When you choose to have a Standing Order, you may skip, edit, and cancel your order as necessary. You are never locked in. To join the Standing Order (Subscription) Club, choose the option when you check out and the frequency you would like your items delivered. Please note: There is a monthly $1 Standing Order Club charge to participate.


How do I edit my order once I have already checked out?

You can edit your order by simply adding your additional items to your cart before the order deadline (Thursdays @ 12:00 PM) - subject to change. Don't worry if you don't get another email confirmation - your changes are autosaved and you'll receive your final invoice on delivery day morning when your credit card on file is charged or you'll receive a Quick Books Invoice to pay via e-check. 


Is there a 3% fee for using my credit card? 

At this time, no additional fees are assessed if you use your credit card. 


Why am I being charged 15%?

A 15% processing fee is added to all orders to cover the costs of delivery and packing materials to ensure your food arrives fresh. It's labeled as a "tax", but it's actually our delivery fees. You are not taxed on Green Hills Nova products. There is no 15% delivery fee on bulk beef orders. Bulk Beef (1/4, 1/2, & Whole) incurs a flat $10 delivery charge per quarter beef. Subject to change without prior notice.

Is there a minimum order amount?

Yes. Minimum orders are $20. If you order less than $10 - your order will be rounded up to $10 + $3 delivery fee (all orders under $10 will cost a minimum of $13). If you order under $20 (but over $10), you will incur a flat $3 delivery fee charge (seen as UNDER $20 ORDER FEE on your invoice). 

What is the Fuel Surcharge (Effective March 11, 2022)?

Due to rising costs in fuel, Green Hills Nova charges a flat (variable) rate of ~$1.25 - $5.00 per customer order. This does not affect the regular minimum order of $10 or $20 respectively with the $3 or 15% delivery fee as explained above. Fuel charge is subject to change without notice. This surcharge is noted as the "Delivery Fee" on your order/invoice.

Is your dairy/food safe?

Our farmer practices strict sanitary guidelines to ensure you are getting high-quality, safe products. There is a lot of conflicting information out there about the safety of consuming milk. This article should help clear up any misconceptions. 


Can I start a new drop site?

Absolutely! Please fill out this form to inquire. 


Is there an incentive for referring people to you?

Yes! We offer you $10 (credited to your account) for every new member who signs up when you refer them to our private buying club. There is no limit. 


What if I don't like the food?

Oh no! We do our very best to ensure you are completely satisfied with the food the farm sends you. If, for any reason, you are unhappy, please leave a comment on your next order, and the farm will make it right. 

I sent an email, but I haven't heard back in a few days; what should I do?

Please check your spam folder if you do not receive a response in 48 hours (and you have a pending application or inquiry).
