All in a Day's Work

It's always a fun time for the Esh's when it comes time to prepare everyone's food and orders. Mondays consist of preparing all of the yogurt drinks, filling cream containers, gathering what is needed out of the freezer, cutting and packaging the cheese, bottling the milk, cleaning all the coolers, and putting all the milk in them along with the ice. Meanwhile, many phone calls are being made as well as completing the desk work.

Isaac, Barbie, John Jr., Mary, and Elmer all pitch in and help Mr. and Mrs. Esh with preparing the orders. If everyone gets at least six hours of sleep on Monday night, then they all do well in packing the orders on Tuesday morning. All in time for the milk to leave soon after 6 a.m. Once the orders are off, it's usually a lazy and leisurely day for everyone on Tuesday!

Mrs. Esh sends some very exciting news about the availability of chicken. They are hoping to have them ready on June 30th!!!! Keep your eyes peeled for next week's newsletter on when you can expect to start ordering chicken again. Just the thought of it is making my mouth water! Until then, continue to eat more beef and pork.

Elizabeth has been growing some wonderful produce for us and has added two new items to the veggie department. Zucchini and cherry tomatoes are now available to order.

Of course, with those superfood veggies, all you need to do is add in your pastured protein - Pork Chops and you've got yourself a summer meal that will please the crowd! Andi did a little diggin' and found these mouth-watering recipes to share. And wouldn't you know, pork chops are on sale for $8.25/pound this week!

Strawberry ice cream will be available for one more week and only salted spring butter is available.

So Long Summer

September... The time of year when the nights begin to get cooler and the breezes lighter. Insects seem less pesky and the world a bit quieter. But work on the farm keeps going and it has been quite a blessing to have so much to do and provide for the Green Hills Farm loyal customers.

Brilliant Splendor of Days on the Farm

Love is in the air... and so is rain! Barbie shares with us the love and grace that the Lord has blessed upon the Esh's. The abundant rains over the past weeks have brought forth life, providing food and nourishment for the animals as they prepare for winter storage.
