Can You Greet Life With a Smile?

Is it worthwhile? Barbie's questions to us in this week's newsletter. She reminds us that we should treat each other the same way we treat ourselves and to always put others first. Great advice to take into this new year. What are you grateful for this new year? I am grateful for family, supportive friends, growing opportunities and for being a part of this wonderful group of people!

The Esh's are grateful for everyone's bountiful donation, although they feel unworthy of such a gift! Providing nutritious foods for you and future generations is their favorite thing to do. And although there have been some hiccups and bumps in the road during our transition to Grazecart, the Esh family sends a tremendous big THANK YOU to you all for being so gracious through it all. Your feedback has been greatly valued and will help improve the process.

Who doesn't love happy baby news! In this week's newsletter we get to hear two very sweet and encouraging stories of two very beautiful and healthy kids who eat according to the Weston A. Price Foundation and traditional diets.

Four year-old Moses thrives on his traditional diet of grass-fed meats, whole goat yogurt, salmon roe, kombucha, pastured eggs and A2 butter. All of these nutritious foods contribute to "the vibrancy and health of this smart, fun and engaging young person who is often mistaken for being older because of his unusual vocabulary, stature and large head circumference." His intake of regular traditional foods has allowed Moses to prosper despite being a carrier of the gene mutation MTHFR. I also am a carrier of this gene and eating food from the Esh's has helped me tremendously! Moses loves to interact and meet with new people of all different ages, adding to his amazing and captivating disposition.

Evie, who is a little over four years-old and her baby sister Madeline, who is thirteen months, have been getting nutrition from a traditional diet since they were in utero! Mom had a regular diet that included fermented cod liver oil (FCLO) and pastured products. Although she didn't quite like the taste of raw milk in the beginning of her pregnancy, mom grew accustomed to and began to enjoy it after the first trimester and throughout the rest of her pregnancy. Included in her diet was fermented veggies, pastured meats, liver patรฉ, and liver supplements. Little Madeline would lick FCLO from her mother's fingertips very early on and now takes it by spoon. The very first food for both girls was pastured egg yolks... yum! Both girls enjoy sardines, dried anchovies, pastured meats, raw milk, raw kefir, fish eggs, fermented veggies, and homemade ice cream. You can definitely say that both Evie and Madeline are thriving and happy children!

So Long Summer

September... The time of year when the nights begin to get cooler and the breezes lighter. Insects seem less pesky and the world a bit quieter. But work on the farm keeps going and it has been quite a blessing to have so much to do and provide for the Green Hills Farm loyal customers.

Brilliant Splendor of Days on the Farm

Love is in the air... and so is rain! Barbie shares with us the love and grace that the Lord has blessed upon the Esh's. The abundant rains over the past weeks have brought forth life, providing food and nourishment for the animals as they prepare for winter storage.
